Swiss Mobility Lab

The Swiss Mobility Lab conducts interdisciplinary research on sustainable mobility. Our team tackles policy-relevant questions, exploring the impact of mobility on quality of life, social capital, ecology, and the economy.

The Swiss Mobility Lab conducts interdisciplinary research that aims to answer policy relevant questions around mobility. Some of the broad questions explored are: What are the implications of mobility for quality of life, social capital, ecology and economy under sustainable development? How can policies be designed in order to be effective, efficient and publicly accepted?

Mobility Challenges

Methods

The different nature of the tasks in the ISTP Swiss Mobility Lab require diverse Methods to be further developed and applied in order to meet the requirements of the research projects. Methods can be divided in two categories: modelling and survey research, both of which are based on the same inferential population to achieve consistency in the output of the projects and to better understand the phenomenon of mobility as a whole.
